With the many terms, acronyms and abbreviations in the search engine optimization, or SEO industry it can get very confusing and overwhelming trying to stay up to speed with all of them or try and learn the latest and greatest. That being said, we are going to start with the most foundational and one that you may have heard, On-Page SEO.
On-page SEO are the factors that search engines consider while their bots scan your web pages. Many of these can be on the front-end of the site; content, bold text, and structured URLs, however most are on the backend and only visible to the search engines. Some of the backend items consist of H tags, or hierarchical tags, alt and description tags, meta tags, schema, coding structure, mobile friendly design, load time, content frequency, sitemaps and more.
The goal of any SEO campaign is to rank high, drive more traffic and eventually convert that traffic into sales, clients or customers. With On-Page SEO as the backbone of any SEO campaign, we’ve laid out some simple steps to follow while enhancing or rating your on-page SEO properties.
One other factor to keep in mind, that coincides as one of the most important, but not necessarily SEO, is user experience. You can have all of the above SEO and more but if a user doesn’t see what they want, find what they want or know how to navigate to what brought them to your site, the SEO is ill relevant and will have a negative effect.
Along with the tips above, another would be to avoid keyword stuffing!
You need to be very cautious while optimizing web pages for search engines and especially Google. Keyword stuffing is nothing but utilizing the same catchphrases over and over in your articles to increase your keyword density. Google considers keyword stuffing as a spam practice. It keeps an eye on such activities and it constantly monitors these factors within websites. Google penalizes websites that are into such practices, which you definitely want to avoid. A better way of enhancing On-Page SEO is by utilizing keywords in a natural writing fashion in your website content.
