Improve your SEO

Search Engine Optimization or SEO, is something that enhances your website’s ranking on search engines. Most people give too much importance to “keywords” and are not getting the desired results. There are many other factors to be considered to improve your website ranking.

Search engine algorithms not only evaluate your keywords but also consider the duration visitors stay on your website, bounce rate, broken links, pages viewed, etc. Here are three ways that can help you improve the ranking of your website:

Relevant content
The amount of time spent by a visitor on your website affects the ranking of your website on search engines. Providing relevant content to your visitors can help them stay there for a longer period of time to consume information. Although word count isn’t the only role in improving the rank of your website, it gives you an opportunity to include all your keywords, provide value and enough content to incorporate more outbound links which will result into an increase in time spent by a visitor on your website. It also opens up possibilities wherein visitors might bookmark your page, which again improves your SEO ranking on select browsers.

Page load time
Every search engine takes into account the “load time of a website” in their ranking algorithm. It’s very easy to lose a visitor by keeping him/her waiting. It could be a matter of 1-2 seconds which can make a huge difference to the visitor’s experience on your website. More load time will increase the bounce rate & reduce the number of page views on your website and it will hurt your SEO ranking. Properly optimized images & limited plug-ins can make a great improvement in the load time of your website. Things like image file name, alt tag, title, description and caption are equally important in improving the website SEO ranking.

Contact info
According to Google, websites having sufficient contact information are considered more trustworthy and are ranked higher by search engines. Having a “Contact us” page on your website is mandatory to project trust in this digital world. A “Contact us” page not only increases website interaction with the visitors but also allows you to generate new leads and improve customer service.
